As a “Truck and Coach Technician,” I am very familiar with all these highly recognized trades and, I also know many hard-working people in them. They are the backbone of our country with very little or no praise associated with them. I could recommend any trade on that list but, only, if you are a hands-on type of person.
You will never be without a job. I found that all through the years I could get employed anywhere from a contract mechanic in war-torn countries to almost anywhere I wanted to move to. That’s what I call recession-proof.

What’s important in today’s job market is … job security…

These ten trades will be forever needed today, and far into the future. This list is recession-proof and in most cases at a reasonably high living wage. The only downfall would be that you will never get any praise for your hard work because people still believe hands-on trades are … modern-day blacksmiths….. Even though the wages are quite comparable it’s not a get-rich-quick trade.
But these occupations I can promise you are not boring. It’s a hands-on trade for people that want to get down and dirty.
Not everybody is built or wants to work in a factory or in a confined office environment.
