Is Canada Legalizing Recreational Marijuana

Canada IS Legalizing Marijuana by midsummer and we will be open for business, at least in the Cannabis department.

More tax revenue.

By Legalizing marijuana in Canada there are a lot of good as well as some bad points, do away with the underground economy, more tax revenue, keep it out of the hands of children.

Look at all the money Canada will be saving by not charging and jailing all these bad guys, you know the ones, selling this stuff illegally. Overnight these bandits will become honorable Canadian citizens again and now will have to go out and just, find real jobs… Eh

I have to admit though, going to a local dispensary will be easier than importing the Jamaican Gold, from you know where.

But again you have to wonder, how is our government going to regulate this weed smoking? It’s illegal to smoke cigarettes anywhere around or near a public building, can’t smoke around children, and they’re even trying to pass a law by banning cigarettes in your home and car. They actually have special officers that heavily fine the offenders.

Up to a couple of years ago, the only place you could buy a six-paque of beer was in a special beer store and since then, they have loosened up that ruling. Now you can buy it in selected food chains.

But “STILL NOT IN A CORNER STORE”.

Pot, even though it is legal in the Netherlands, it is widely available and probably considered a nuisance more than anything. As luck would have it, we went to Holland for our holidays and this is off the subject, BUT NOT.

∞ So, while we were in Holland the curiosity got the best of me, and I had to visit the famous RED LIGHT DISTRICT. As I looked over at these display windows I noticed this “lady” had spotted me. She did the consecutive finger gesture to come in for a “visit”. I pointed out that I had my wife with me and she gave this wave with her hand, who cares gesture.

Only in Holland. Eh!

BACK TO THE STORY

Having been in Amsterdam all those days, there was no distinct Marijuana smell. We were there for the Queen’s birthday and partygoers were everywhere. There was no heavy smoke/smell.

Maybe they weren’t smoking that day, Marijuana smoke-free day, or maybe they found a way to remove that distinct order.

Well, as I understand it, major growers in Canada will have up to 50 different flavors of this weed for your liking. So our Canadian growers must have found a way to get rid of the smell.

But, I still have to wonder if some Canadian pot will include a menthol or a cherry flavor.

A few years back the tobacco companies polluted my Cigars with those oddball flavors, and that took the fun right out of smoking stoggies.  Eh!

I think our illustrious government is sailing in

“UNCHARTERED WATERS”.

This will bring a new meaning to

“MADE IN CANADA”  “Eh”

Addiction Habits are they the same

Everybody is addicted to something, hooked on something, anything.

It seems to me the brain gets tweaked, doing the same thing over and over and it seems to pick up speed in the sense it remembers you should be doing something, something you did a number of times before, like a natural body reminder.

Addictions/habits I believe are same but different.

Everybody talks about being addicted to drinking, smoking or drugs and going to the gym at the same time. We are regimented to take our medicine on time. (And that’s a good thing) Go to school on time, etc.

Our mind is easily trained and hooked.

When the addiction word comes up, it always refers to drinking, smoking or drugs. But are you hooked on anything else?   Sure, everybody is. That’s why they’re all habits and all habits can be broken.

So, scientists say it takes 21 days to break or make a habit. And I think that’s quite possible.

Latest NEWS Flash ….. A new study says it takes 66 days to break a habit.

Sure smoking is addictive and hard to quit,  everybody, doctors included, tells you it’s an addiction and could be treated with “other drugs” Then when you beat the habit, you find yourself saying, “but I sure like that stuff the doctor gave me. Can I have some more … I feel a craving coming on.”

I watch our cats. They are repetitious and they like routine. Are they addicted to waking you up at 6 am every morning?  Do they watch that clock, can they even tell time?  But they are on time every time.  Are they addicted or just in a routine or are they habit freaks?

I’d like to think some of us are smarter.

I’d like to think that we are smarter than our cats and if it’s a habit, train your mind to think differently.  It’s only a habit, remember the 21-day rule.

All companies spend big dollars to convince you their product is better and cheaper than the rest. Their strategy is for you to get used to their product and then you’ll keep buying it.

HOOKED OR HABIT

A few years back, car manufacturers came up with some interesting thinking. You will always go back to buying the FIRST original car you ever owned. So they target graduating college students to buy their brand of vehicle.  Only one stipulation,

they’ve never owned a car before and this is their first one.

I, myself, try not to get into a habit, like having a cigarette after sex. The sex is ok, but the cigarettes have to go.

That’s a joke because I don’t smoke!

So I would like to think humans are smarter than a repetitious animal, as loving as they are, they are still routine/habit freaks.

We should be smarter than that, without exchanging one drug for another. Let’s all get with the program. If it’s not good for you, your body will tell you. Give it a good try and then just … change it.

So after saying all that,

Meet you at the coffee shop tomorrow at the same place, same time as we always do. ……. “HABIT”

I’m not saying it’s easy to change some habits, but I would like to think we’re all smarter than our furry friends.
