Storage Auction Notice

Storage locker Auction in your area.

I started off my daily routine by checking and answering all my e-mails and inquiries, and I came across this one that just stood out, “Storage Auction Notice”.

Now, that’s a definite call to action!

“Closing in your area is good, today is good,” well, it’s not like I had a lot of inquiries or my agenda was full.  I could entertain the idea, so I opened up my e-mail.

Well, this was a last minute decision. But that’s ok.

Ah, it’s the same storage auction I read about a few days earlier. When I first looked at the auction ad, I found nothing of interest and now giving it a second look, it still didn’t improve my opinion. “Nothing”. But it is in my area and the price looked right. My normally “heavy” day was free; (darn), and, I had no e-mails to answer!

WHY NOT! So I put in a lowball price and behold, nobody wanted it, well then,

“Lucky me” Eh!

I just bought an abandoned locker. Now after looking the locker over, you have to wonder, why would people pay good hard earned money to store absolutely nothing of value. Many of the articles I found were not even good giveaways.  I’m not totally surprised by few bidders, BUT I didn’t pay much.

I shouldn’t forget, a lot of people do fall on hard times and at the last moment, storing whatever valuables they had looked to be their only option.

And having said that, if by chance they foresee that the monthly locker payments won’t work either, (food or locker payments) well, that would be a no-brainer. So these same people would scavenge what good belongings they do have and leave the rest.

Most of these lockers, do tell a very sad story.

So yea, I cleaned out the abandoned locker from the people that just left in a hurry. I cleaned and nearly washed the floor for the locker company, (that’s required) just so they can cut their losses, and re-rent the unit as soon as humanly possible.

What did I find?

Pots and pans that went to Good Will, winter clothes, 3 office chairs, that all went to Good Will, boat anchor the city landfill got their share and I got the rest? … O YA, an old cash register, that’s only good for a (boat Anchor) 2 old couches, some bed frames that you couldn’t put together because … there were “parts missing?”… But, I did find some high-end audio speakers, that thankfully paid for the locker.

Me, I just bought a job.

Now through all fairness, this was not, household material. People do not pay to store these kinds of “items” so I have to wonder after all these years of buying lockers, do the companies themselves use one of their units to store “garbage” and knowingly auction off the locker as “abandoned”.

“They wouldn’t do that, WOULD THEY?”

“FOOD FOR THOUGHT”

Best Truck Pull Event

Calling all truck drivers to The Best Truck Pull Ever

truck rodeo

Notre-Dame-du-Nord truck Rodeo.

Notre-Dame-du-Nord truck rodeo is calling us.… Beg, borrow or steal an RV, AND if all else fails, “rent a MOTORHOME “ (RV). Grab some of your trucker comrades or buddies and go to the best truck pull/show in North America and it’s in Quebec  Canada …  (10-4) This is not an advertisement, not a  paid endorsement, hell, I’m not even getting any brownie points.

“I’VE BEEN THERE”.

I personally have been to this truck rodeo with a bunch of my trucker buds and did exactly that, rented a big RV motorhome, zoomed up to Notre-Dame-du-Nord truck rodeo.  And the address, you guessed it, is in the village of (Notre-Dame-du-Nord, QC. Canada). Park the RV, open the door, and there you are, parked in the most serene, peaceful part of our country, well until the truckers roll in.

This beautiful tucked away village of Notre-Dame-du-Nord is on the top end of the Ottawa River and has hosted these semi-truck pulls as far back as I remember. It just gets bigger and better, not to mention all the large prize money that they give away to these silly truckers to do what they do. (Legal drag racing) Nothing finer.  Eh!

WHAT DO THEY DO …  YOU ASK.

These silly truckers drag race their perfectly good and in some cases, brand NEW highway trucks up this big hill, that’s at least a 12 % slope/grade.  Now for you trucker want-a-bees, that’s an awful grade. Think about it. Two trucks standing side by side, just torqueing up their engines, Black smoke just pouring from exhaust stacks, the frame just twisting as these two silly “BOOGERS” drag race up this hill, approx 700 ft, (213.36) meters, and these trucks are loaded with 45,000 ton of sticks/lumber… That’s a site of good, skillful driving.

SORRY, “It’s called a “TRUCK PULL”, not drag racing”?

THAT’S NOT FAR UP THAT HILL, YOU SAY? …… You tell your boss that you’re taking his brand new Peterbilt and drag race up a 12 % hill with fully loaded B Train, and he will tell you exactly how far that is, and how far you’ll be going looking for a new job … (10-4 … RUBBER DUCK).

When I learned about this event in Notre-Dame-du-Nord, I thought it would just be a fun getaway for the boys. It was a challenge to talk some of my trucker buddies into going and on their day off no less. But nobody ever regretted going that extra 6-hour drive from our home-20 and seeing this one of a kind truck pull and show. It was worth it.

Spectators come from all over North America to see these guys.

I SAID, Yeah RIGHT ….. Two fully loaded trucks, drag race up this hill, this I have to see. There is going to be parts and pieces of drive shafts, engine parts flying everywhere. Maybe, I better take out a little more life insurance, just in case I get a little too close to the action, getting hit by flying truck parts, (debris).

But, I have to admit, watching these skillful drivers torque up these big trucks and watching their frames just twist. These drivers knew exactly how to drive them and without even breaking anything. I was somewhat disappointed though, not even seeing a driveshaft falling off or something, anything that I could fix, but “NOTHING”. I did see a lot of skillful drivers behind the wheel though.

PLEASE, check out their website.  truck rodeo

Trumps Nafta

CANADIAN AND AMERICIAN FLAG

TORN COUNTRIES

Nafta unfair trade practices.

As a Canadian, I watch and read as much news that comes down the pipe about U.S President Trump and how he is going to straighten out the unfair trade practices that CANADA has over the United States (Nafta). (North American Free Trade Agreement) (I really thought he was joking in the beginning).

“You know how silly that sounds”?

I swore I would never get caught up in politics, BUT here I go?

I was going to save this post until my regular post time on Saturdays, but I’m upset with the stupidity and had to voice my opinion…

We have always been trading back and forth with the U.S, forever, but, little old Canada supposedly is putting a big dent into the USA economy which is not even worth the discussion, because of …

“HOW SILLY THAT SOUNDS”.

The U.S. President calls Canadians, Spoiled and “he’s going to straighten us out”.

As long as I can remember when the United States says to Canada, jump, our Government always directly or indirectly say ”how high” That’s a given. It always has been that way, forever, and why our Canadian government hasn’t pulled us away from that bullying mentality a long time ago, boggles the mind.

When Trump came into power, he swore, he would shake up the White House and from an outsider looking in, that’s exactly what he’s doing or did.

Probably the only type of person that could have pulled that off would be a really wealthy person with an “I don’t care” attitude. I don’t have any friends but I “can buy as many as I want or need”, attitude. He looks to be a good poker player (bluffing is his game) and then throws in the mixture of having one of the most powerful positions in the world.

I call that,  #A PERFECT STORM.

But I’m only going to say this ONCE.

(He might be right about Canada and he MIGHT JUST BE DOING us a big favor in the long run).

It is time to be more of a sovereign country. Stop spending and giving away large amounts of money frivolously, make more investment in Canada and Canadian people, that are going to stay in Canada and help build this country’s status to where we should be on the world stage.  STOP the sale of Canadian corporations to foreigners. People from outside the country own more of our land that Canadians.

Who do you think owns the

(I AM CANADIAN) slogan, Americans

We have the education and the knowledge to build and make anything and certainly have all the resources known to man.  I feel Canadians got blindsided by our brothers to the south and there is nothing worse than a brother against brother.  President Trump surely should remember that part of their “DARK history”.

So times have changed and he’s going to straighten us Canadians out. He’s going to put us on Trump’s highway, to where ever land?

We as a completely separate Country from the U.S. I think we should start acting like it. So unlike Mexico, I say it’s time to build our own wall.

NORTH AMERICA

Wall between Canada and U.S.

And maybe by that time, the US Army Core of Engineers would have built their own shipping lanes into the great lakes from (let’s say) the … Atlantic Ocean (on their side of the border). instead of going through Canada.

I cannot foresee that happening any time soon,  “but it’s a thought”.

Some say, “it’s only business”, others like myself say, the repercussions will go far deeper than,  “JUST BUSINESS”.

We have just been bullied by a Friend/Brother and there can be nothing more cutting.

“THAN BROTHER AGAINST BROTHER”

  SO

#WE WILL BE BROTHERS NO MORE!

Note… By the way, slandering our Prime Minister just reaffirms my thinking, it’s time to be more dependent on US!

BUT, This is only my opinion.

Freedom 65 just sucks

“GETTING OLDER,  JUST SUCKS”

Freedom 65, riiiiight. Getting up in the morning, you have to roll yourself out of bed, almost afraid to do such a mundane thing. I say to myself, “I’m pretty comfortable in my bed, but I can’t stay here all day. … I don’t have any aches or pains if I stay right here.”

Someday you have to even worry about tying your own shoes, for it might throw my back out, and then, you’ll get your wish! “Stay in bed.” Freedom 65 just doesn’t work for me.

I have places to go, people to see … things to do,

I don’t have time for this shit!.

I was going to say in most cases, but it’s like in all cases, the mind is willing but the body just isn’t.

Sure you can do the aerobics thing, do your brisk walk through the park and yeah, 5000 footsteps a day should keep you fit, Eh!

But the hard reality is, your body is just getting older and worn out and there’s not much you can do in that department.

Time waits for no man.

All through life we all have given the “age thing” at least a passing thought. I’ll never be that old the way my lifestyle is. I can’t see me living past 35 years. No sir, not me.

But time has a way of creeping up on you. Before you know it, you’re there (and only if you’re really lucky).  SO, Life is going pretty fast and just seems to, well, just pick up speed. It seems like yesterday we did this, NO! That was 2 years ago you did that whatever thing.

My famous saying would be,” look at that old guy” and my wife would interrupt my sentence and say…” have you looked in the mirror lately?” NO, I’m too scared to. Ha! Ha!

 SO, Does age really matter?

My dog (Six-Paque) and I went for a walk through the park. We’ve had our dog a lot of years, but who’s counting time. Coming back from our walk he had to stop and rest, and even then it didn’t register, maybe he did it for me, maybe I needed to stop and catch my breath. Who knows?

But this one day we went for a walk and I turned over to look at my buddy and saw this old guy walking beside me. It was my dog. Then I knew how old he was. He passed away not long after that walk.

I too looked into the mirror and saw this old guy. But I’m not ready to pack it in yet.

I guess we have no complaints. Our dog shouldn’t have any complaints either, for he lived a good life.  We’ve done a lot of things, went a lot of places and we’re still a relatively healthy family, even if I have to roll out of bed to get up.

BUT … “I blame it on the bed; it’s 3 ft off the ground”.bed high off the ground

I wonder if most people can say the same about doing things they always wanted to do. You know, you can’t depend on next year, or tomorrow to do whatever. AND IF YOU CAN

“Let’s get doing it”. You can’t leave this place with regrets of any kind. Remember, TIME WAITS FOR NO MAN.

I SHOULD HAVE, COULD HAVE, BUT DIDN’T.

And no, I don’t see an old man in the mirror. I SEE ME.

Thanks for asking!

Is Trench Art Highly Collectable

Some HISTORY on Trench Art

figurine trench artWhat Is Trench Art Collectables and why should I collect them.

Trench Art is highly collectible and some think “Decorative“. Trench Art is considered items made out of used and discarded war materials by soldiers of war.

They were made by imaginative soldiers in trenches, POWs camps, war casualties (hospitals) and civilians with access to mounds of war leftovers and just some people that had the time. (Boredom)

Shell casings of any shape or size were widely used.  Bullets, Landmines, scrap shell caseings and mortars were easily made into some kind of an art form, including picture frames, ashtrays, paperweights, flower pots, candlestick holder, etc.

I would almost consider this a form of “Folk Art”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folk_art

Trench art started to be noticed during the 1st & 2nd world wars, but I’m sure all world conflicts have their own form of “art”.

The majority of Trench Art (as the story goes) was made because of pure BOREDOM in Trenches, “POW camps”  and some, as they say, made them as a MEMENTO of their time served, or the art could be just traded for much needed useable goods.

This continued many years after the war with civilians making their own form of trench art. There certainly was no shortage of discarded leftover war material.

This art is a little funky looking and not for everybody’s taste, but most of these items do have a good, bad, or ugly story to tell by people that know firsthand what war was really like.

Believe it or not, there is a following of collectors out there that are into Trench Art/War Memorabilia.

This article was based on a lot of independent information and I am passing it on, however,

BORDOM or MEMENTOS, I’m not sure I agree.

(NOTE)

TRAMP art has a lot of similarity to trench art, where people made items from boredom and lots of discarded material.

Is Canada Legalizing Recreational Marijuana

Canada IS Legalizing Marijuana by midsummer and we will be open for business, at least in the Cannabis department.

More tax revenue.

marijuana logo

Official Weed Logo

By Legalizing marijuana in Canada there are a lot of good as well as some bad points, do away with the underground economy, more tax revenue, keep it out of the hands of children.

Look at all the money Canada will be saving by not charging and jailing all these bad guys, you know the ones, selling this stuff illegally. Overnight these bandits will become honorable Canadian citizens again and now will have to go out and just, find real jobs… Eh

I have to admit though, going to a local dispensary will be easier than importing the Jamaican Gold, from you know where.

But again you have to wonder, how is our government going to regulate this weed smoking? It’s illegal to smoke cigarettes anywhere around or near a public building, can’t smoke around children, and they’re even trying to pass a law by banning cigarettes in your home and car. They actually have special officers that heavily fine the offenders.

Up to a couple of years ago, the only place you could buy a six-paque of beer was in a special beer store and since then, they have loosened up that ruling. Now you can buy it in selected food chains.

But “STILL NOT IN A CORNER STORE”.

Pot, even though it is legal in the Netherlands, it is widely available and probably considered a nuisance more than anything. As luck would have it, we went to Holland for our holidays and this is off the subject, BUT NOT.

∞ So, while we were in Holland the curiosity got the best of me, and I had to visit the famous RED LIGHT DISTRICT. As I looked over at these display windows I noticed this “lady” had spotted me. She did the consecutive finger gesture to come in for a “visit”. I pointed out that I had my wife with me and she gave this wave with her hand, who cares gesture.

Only in Holland. Eh!

BACK TO THE STORY

Having been in Amsterdam all those days, there was no distinct Marijuana smell. We were there for the Queen’s birthday and partygoers were everywhere. There was no heavy smoke/smell.

Maybe they weren’t smoking that day, Marijuana smoke-free day, or maybe they found a way to remove that distinct order.

Well, as I understand it, major growers in Canada will have up to 50 different flavors of this weed for your liking. So our Canadian growers must have found a way to get rid of the smell.

But, I still have to wonder if some Canadian pot will include a menthol or a cherry flavor.

A few years back the tobacco companies polluted my Cigars with those oddball flavors, and that took the fun right out of smoking stoggies.  Eh!

I think our illustrious government is sailing in

“UNCHARTERED WATERS”.

This will bring a new meaning to

“MADE IN CANADA”  “Eh”

Collecting Space Age Memorabellia.

What is Art deco style space-age furniture and decor

WELL, they classify during the making of the atomic bomb 1944sh and after the war years, they called that the Atomic Age.

Around 1947 there was a ROSWELL, New Mexico incident and then the race to the moon, all that in a short period of time.

Futuristic Space age everything

Which brings us up to the space age time period? Race to the moon, USSR vs. the United States

News networks from around the world were writing articles on all these events, race to the moon, flying saucer crashing in Roswell… There was no shortage of things to write about during those exciting times after the war.

Cashing in on the hype.

Major manufacturing companies see all this free publicity on the space age era and they must have seen this as a good opportunity to cash in on the hype.

So they just started making anything and everything space age, futuristic oriented, space age

There was furniture that looked like flying saucers, their cars with fins, there where space/rocket ship toys.

Real, I mean really, space looking airport terminals were built,Space restaurant houses and buildings were built with a space theme

Movies, electronics, lighting even some countries had commemorative postage stamps ufo stampwith pictures of spaceships on them. And the list goes on.

I myself like banks; you know the kind that you put your loose change into, normally called “piggy banks”

Rocketship banks, flying saucer mechanical banks, they were all my favorite styles.

But that would be another post on bank collecting…

So, they were interesting times and most like I said, these companies sure used their talent and imagination to the maximum.

Look on the WEB for these space age items of the late 1940s -1980s,  most are highly collectible today, and that’s, only if you can still find anything, Sorry I lied! …

because there are still lots of the original tin toys around, but they’re pricey.

Like anything, you can still find reproductions.

Some call those times the atomic era or Mid-century times, I call it the space age period.

If you owned a space-age home stereo system, GUARANTEED you would have the only one on your street.

If you’re still interested in that space-age time period, please check out these sites.

Google …Mechanical space ship banks, space-age furniture, vintage space toys

Pinterest has many photos to share of this futuristic timeline…

Addiction Habits are they the same

Everybody is addicted to something, hooked on something, anything.

It seems to me the brain gets tweaked, doing the same thing over and over and it seems to pick up speed in the sense it remembers you should be doing something, something you did a number of times before, like a natural body reminder.

Addictions/habits I believe are same but different.

Everybody talks about being addicted to drinking, smoking or drugs and going to the gym at the same time. We are regimented to take our medicine on time. (And that’s a good thing) Go to school on time, etc.

Our mind is easily trained and hooked.

When the addiction word comes up, it always refers to drinking, smoking or drugs. But are you hooked on anything else?   Sure, everybody is. That’s why they’re all habits and all habits can be broken.

So, scientists say it takes 21 days to break or make a habit. And I think that’s quite possible.

Latest NEWS Flash ….. A new study says it takes 66 days to break a habit.

Sure smoking is addictive and hard to quit,  everybody, doctors included, tells you it’s an addiction and could be treated with “other drugs” Then when you beat the habit, you find yourself saying, “but I sure like that stuff the doctor gave me. Can I have some more … I feel a craving coming on.”

I watch our cats. They are repetitious and they like routine. Are they addicted to waking you up at 6 am every morning?  Do they watch that clock, can they even tell time?  But they are on time every time.  Are they addicted or just in a routine or are they habit freaks?

I’d like to think some of us are smarter.

I’d like to think that we are smarter than our cats and if it’s a habit, train your mind to think differently.  It’s only a habit, remember the 21-day rule.

All companies spend big dollars to convince you their product is better and cheaper than the rest. Their strategy is for you to get used to their product and then you’ll keep buying it.

HOOKED OR HABIT

A few years back, car manufacturers came up with some interesting thinking. You will always go back to buying the FIRST original car you ever owned. So they target graduating college students to buy their brand of vehicle.  Only one stipulation,

they’ve never owned a car before and this is their first one.

I, myself, try not to get into a habit, like having a cigarette after sex. The sex is ok, but the cigarettes have to go.

That’s a joke because I don’t smoke!

So I would like to think humans are smarter than a repetitious animal, as loving as they are, they are still routine/habit freaks.

We should be smarter than that, without exchanging one drug for another. Let’s all get with the program. If it’s not good for you, your body will tell you. Give it a good try and then just … change it.

So after saying all that,

Meet you at the coffee shop tomorrow at the same place, same time as we always do. ……. “HABIT”

I’m not saying it’s easy to change some habits, but I would like to think we’re all smarter than our furry friends.

COMPUTERS SMARTER THAN YOU

CAN YOUR COMPUTER LEARN ALL YOUR BAD HABITS?

MANY YEARS BACK WHEN THE PHYSICAL  COMPUTER WAS JUST IN INFANCY MODE, I PURCHASED A

STATE OF THE ART RADIO SHACK ELECTRONIC CHESS SET.

YOU CAN PLAY WITH A LIVE BODY OR IF THERE’S NO ONE AROUND YOU CAN PLAY THE COMPUTER AS YOUR OPPONENT.

BUT, THAT’S OK, HOW HARD COULD IT BE? A PERSON PROGRAMMED THE MACHINE SO TO ME, IT WOULD BE THE SAME.

THERE WERE 1 TO 10 LEVELS. IST LEVEL, PIECE OF CAKE AND AS IT GOES UP THE LEVELS, THE HARDER IT WAS. ONE THING I NOTICED, WHEN I WAS CLOSE TO WINNING THE GAME, FUNNY THINGS WOULD START TO HAPPEN.

WHEN I GOT LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET IT IN CHECK AGAIN, THE GAME WOULD JUST TURN OFF. I’M THINKING, DID I HIT A WRONG BUTTON? DID SOMEBODY DISCONNECT THE POWER?

I HAD THAT STUPID CHESS GAME IN CHECK.

AND IT STILL DIDN’T DAWN ON ME.

THE FEW TIMES I HAD MY COMP-OPPONENT IN CHECK, I NOTICED THAT IT WAS THE COMPUTERIZED CHESS GAME THAT WAS GOING TILT, SHUTTING DOWN. THIS GAME BOARD COMPUTER, IT DIDN’T LIKE TO LOSE.

I WOULD GO SO FAR AS TO SAY, IT WAS LEARNING MY MOVES, MY HABITS, IT WAS ON TO ME LIKE A WET BLANKET.

THAT COULDN’T BE RIGHT, it’s ONLY A STUPID CHESS GAME. Eh

I GUESS I’M WATCHING TOO MANY STAR WAR MOVIES.

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY AND THE NEW COMPUTERS ARE PROGRAMMED TO LEARN YOUR HABITS, “MAKING THINGS BETTER FOR THE CONSUMER” they say.

MAYBE THEY DO AND MAYBE THEY DONT

GO ONLINE (WWW) AND SOME COMPUTER, AND PROBABLY YOURS, IS SQUEALING ON YOU!

TELLING EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD, THIS IS WHAT I HAVE  BEEN LOOKING UP AND THE NEXT TIME YOU GO ON THE WEB, (FUNNY HOW IT HAPPENS), UP COMES EVERYTHING YOU’VE BEEN INQUIRING ABOUT FOR THE LAST WEEK.

GOOD THING OR BAD THING

YOU BE THE JUDGE.

MY POINT WOULD BE IF YOU USE THAT SAME TECHNOLOGY IN DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS, YOU COULD GET ENTIRELY DIFFERENT RESULTS LIKE I WROTE IN MY POST “THE OTHER ROOM”.

TECHNOLOGY IS A WONDEROUS THING.

IT WILL BE A SCARY THING WHEN THESE “MACHINES” GET SMARTER AND THEY WILL, JUST KEEP ON LEARNING AND OUR BRAINS, WELL —–

JUST GET MORE AND MORE  ……. PICKLED FROM NOT BEING USED.

SO, YOU BE THE JUDGE.

THIS IS ONLY A MOVIE, BUT IT DOES HAVE GOOD ACTORS.  .. I ROBOT

Part 3 of armored trucks in Canada

MORE TROOP CARRIERS

OUR police forces are buying up these troop carriers and armored trucks but for what reason? I wrote 2 blog posts on the subject and have been subtlely critical of these vehicles in our police forces. I still believe that they are an intimidating piece of equipment that belongs in a war zone other than on our streets. I also believe that in a safe environment like Canada these war machines are not warranted in our society.

Having said that, writing 2 posts on the subject, I do think that my thinking might be a little behind the times, this world is more of a dangerous place than a few years back. Do I like to think we as Canadians are exempt from terrorism, unbalanced people that would like nothing better than do us harm, just for the sake of our thinking and freedom values? But like I say, we in Canada, we also have homegrown, imbalanced people living right here, born right here with radicalized thinking.

Should we still have armored trucks in the police force?

SO, are these armored trucks in the police department warranted? Who knows.  I would like to think they don’t belong in our country or on our streets for any reason. But, I think my head is in the sand and should be pulled out soon, maybe just long enough to see the reality of all things going on, on the world stage. When researching the second part, I looked at a lot of images of demonstrations, rallies, couldn’t help but notice a trend.

You know, everyone has the right to do peaceful demonstrations, but, some of these demonstrations that just appear out of nowhere, and, where did they get these pre-made, perfect looking signs?  Did they have a printing press in their van for those special moments when they get the urge to protest about something/anything? Rallying your friends and neighbors for the high tax hikes is one thing, but these rallies are really, really quite organized and again to what extent and by … whom.

Maybe our law enforcement do see these demonstrators with their faces all masked up, for me, that’s a dead giveaway that these people are up to no good.  Maybe our finest have taken notice and notice major trouble on the horizon. Armored trucks though?

Armored trucks, swat teams, riot gear. Hate to see that in Canada.

Ex-Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau

This is what our ex-Prime Minister “Pierre Trudeau” had to say about the October Crisis 1970.

“There are a lot of bleeding hearts around who just don’t like to see people with helmets and guns. All I can say is go and bleed It is more important to keep law and order in society than to be worried about weak-kneed people Society must take every means at its disposal to defend itself against the emergence of a parallel power which defies the elected power.”

Pierre Trudeau
